Upon release, The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon has a vibrant young deep red - purple color. The nose shows intense blackcurrant fruit, cedary cinnamon spice barrel ferment & oak derived aromas, violet and mint scents as well as liquorice & chocolate smells. These are followed by a typically firm but fine-grained tannin extended texture overlaying soft plum which deceptively disguises the rich powerful cassis and blackcurrant flavors. The emphasis is on powerful full-bodied varietal fruit flavor integrated with barrel fermented and oak matured characters falling into the cedary, smokey and cashew spectrum. The 2002 Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a sweet perfume of roasted herbs, black currants, blackberries. Lead pencil shavings, and background oak. Red Wine by Yalumba from Coonawarra, Australia. Yalumba The Menzies 2004 is deep crimson magenta in colour. A very complex nose offers nuances of violet, bay leaf, black olive and oyster shell. The palate opens with mocha and tapenade supported by damsen plum. Full bodied with fine tannins, this stunning wine finishes fresh and balanced. The Menzies is crafted to be enjoyed with full flavored foods and complements roasted meats and piquant cheese.

Red Wine by Yalumba from Coonawarra, Australia. “Bright violet. Juicy, high-pitched aromas of redcurrant, cassis, cocoa powder and sweet underbrush. Quite round, even lush, on the palate, but the red and dark fruit flavors convey impressive structure and focus thanks to suave tannins and subtle acidity. With air, this developed a sweet cherry flavor, with hints of smoky herbs and cured meat. This medium-bodied, spicy, ripe, ruggedly constructed Cabernet has some rustic tannin to be resolved. It should evolve for 10-12 years.” ~ The Wine Advocate  Deep crimson red. The aroma is a meld of briar, red currant and black olive flavours through to black cherry and plum skins. The palate opens with the sweet berry richness of red currants and dark chocolates, merging into a full bodied wine with a nice fleshy extract. Nose: The nose is rich and clear with blackberry, chocolate and characteristic Coonawarra notes of mint. The oak aging adds a hint of coffee and cedar. Palate: This is a rich, sweet-fruited and full bodied wine. Flavors of blackberry, cherry and raspberry gain complexity from chocolate and mint notes before the long and even finish. Red Wine by Penley Estate from Coonawarra, Australia. After a wet winter, spring was cool to mild followed by a warm, dry summer. The 2005 Harvest saw plenty of sunshine and very little rain. These conditions produced intense flavors, aromatics, and colors. The 2005 Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon expresses distinctive Coonawarra regionality and structure unique to the Penley Estate property. This elegant, full-bodied wine leads with ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose followed by aromas of spice, dark berries and subtle oak. The tantalizing dark berry flavors are heightened by the velvety finish. Drink now or cellar up to five years for additional complexity.

Red Wine by Mitolo from McLaren Vale, Australia. Almost black in colour with a purple hue. A lifted and herbaceous nose with hints of ripe plums and nutmeg. The palate is somewhat restrained yet shows generosity of fruit.

Red Wine by Jim Barry from Coonawarra, Australia. This wine is ruby/crimson in color, with purple tints. The nose shows intensely complex characters of rosemary, mint and coffee. This is followed up on the palate by an eruption of fruit flavors - primarily black cherry and blackberry, with hints of mocha and dried herbs. The tannins are fine grained and supple and the wine has a long, integrated finish. As with previous releases of The Cover Drive, the wine displays harmonious balance and can be enjoyed now or will reward cellaring for 2-3 years.

Red Wine by Tintara from McLaren Vale, Australia. The McLaren Vale region is strongly maritime influenced, with considerable variation in climate between the hill slopes and the sea. The hills produce favorable seasonal rains while the coast brings ripening sunshine softened by cooling breezes. Tintara fruit is 100% McLaren Vale and includes only the absolute best lots from both estate-owned and contracted vineyards. The vineyards age to 70 years and these provide the dense character and powerful dark fruit aromas found in Tintara. The fruit for this wine was destemmed and crushed into 4 and 7-ton open-top fermenters. The wine was tasted 3 times daily and the fermentation temperature and extraction regime adjusted at each tasting to maximize flavor extraction, keeping tannin in balance with the fruit intensity. When the tannin and fruit balance were extracted to the desired level, the wines were basket pressed to tank. After settling for 24 hours, the wine was racked into French oak barrels. The 2002 vintage is ripe and juicy in flavor with currants, black fruits and a rich palate of leather, earth and spice, giving way to a long and balanced finish.

Red Wine by Tintara from McLaren Vale, Australia. Tintara fruit is 100% McLaren Vale and includes only the best lots from both estate-owned and contracted vineyards. The 70-year-old vineyards provide the dense character and powerful dark fruit aromas. Appearance: Vibrant deep red with crimson hue. Aroma: Ripe dark berries and black currant accented by hints of plum. A touch of anise and cinnamon are accompanied by subtle notes of leather. Flavor: Stylish and powerful, with a rich, fruit-driven palate. Medium- to full-bodied with flavors of dark tobacco, jam and hints of anise are flowed by a long, bold finish.

Red Wine by Ring bolt from Margaret River, Australia. The nose is classic Cabernet Sauvignon from a cool region. Layers of intensely flavored ripe forest berries infused with tobacco leaf and cassis, with a hint of brooding cedar oak. The wine displays a fine expression of varietal definition from a challenging cool vintage that yields soft luscious tannins and a long fresh finish. Ringbolt is made for immediate drinking though it will continue to gain complexity with cellaring for up to five years. The wine would be well paired with flame grilled meats or Mediterranean cuisine.

Red Wine by Marquis Philips from McLaren Vale, Australia. This wine was 100% barrel fermented in new and 1 year old oak (30% French, 70% American oak.) and barrel matured for 12 months. The 2005 wines show generous and concentrated fruit and this Cabernet is a great example with its flavors of blueberries and cassis. It has silky, smooth tannins resulting from utilizing age-old cap management techniques. The wine shows some cedary, cigar box oak influence along with its bold fruit expression. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2005 Cabernet receives a similar wood treatment to the Merlot, resulting in a big, thick, juicy, fresh, classic South Australian red offering bold, exuberant, blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with striking vanillin and pain grille characteristics. With superb texture as well as a full-bodied, powerful finish, this amazing Cabernet should drink well for 4-5 years. - The Wine Advocate   

Red Wine by Wolf Blass from South Australia, Australia. The 2005 Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, deep wine. The nose shows fresh, varietal, leafy characters with subtle and integrated oak flavors. There are aromas of plums and berries. This is a medium to full bodied wine that offers a sweet, middle palate, finishing with fine, smooth, chalky Cabernet tannins. Enjoy with roasted lamb or grilled lamb cutlets. This wine is drinking very nicely now, but it will also reward between 2 and 5 years of cellaring.
